Ismail Darbar Shares Insights on Family and Gauahar Khan’s Career

Music composer Ismail Darbar has openly discussed his daughter-in-law, actor and former Bigg Boss winner Gauahar Khan, shedding light on their family dynamics and his views on career and motherhood. In a recent interview, Darbar highlighted the strong bond between Gauahar and his son, Zaid Darbar, as well as her commitment to motherhood after the couple welcomed their second child earlier this year.

Darbar expressed admiration for Gauahar’s relationship with Zaid, stating, “All I know is that she has a wonderful relationship with Zaid, and that she is a wonderful mother. The composer also recounted a pivotal moment from his own life, emphasizing how his wife, Ayesha Darbar, made sacrifices for their children. “The greatest thing my wife Ayesha did was stop working for her child’s sake,” he revealed. During a time when she was earning Rs 5 lakh a month and receiving acting offers, Ayesha chose to focus on their family instead. “Even when I was in need of money, she didn’t offer to earn for us,” he added.

He mentioned that his family has always held traditional values, recalling, “We used to turn away whenever a sensuous type of scene came in a movie. This happens in our house even today.” He acknowledged that Gauahar is now part of their family and that her reputation matters to them. Yet, he maintained that he cannot dictate her career choices. “I can’t tell her not to work; that right belongs only to Zaid,” he stated, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of personal boundaries within family relationships.
