Diljit Dosanjh Exits No Entry 2 Due to Scheduling Conflicts

Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh is no longer part of the upcoming film No Entry 2, which stars Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. Producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that Dosanjh exited the project amicably due to scheduling conflicts. He emphasized that the decision was made in good spirits, as the actor’s commitments did not align with the film’s shooting schedule.
In an interview with NDTV, Boney Kapoor stated, “Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements; hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together.” The actor’s busy itinerary, especially his Aura Tour across Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13, has made it challenging for him to commit to the film’s timeline. Currently, Dosanjh is juggling multiple projects alongside his international performances.
Boney Kapoor Reflects on Casting Challenges
The challenges of casting for No Entry 2 extend beyond Dosanjh’s departure. Boney Kapoor previously expressed disappointment over not retaining original cast members Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan from the first film. “Yeh humara loss hai that we could not retain the same star cast,” he noted, indicating that the team waited nearly eight to ten years for the sequel to materialize but ultimately had to move forward without the original trio.
He added, “We will miss them. Now, we’re trying to give it a fresh start with a younger lot of actors. But yes, we will miss Salman, Anil, and Fardeen. They were the original three boys in No Entry, and they were most loved.” Boney praised the original cast, remarking on their contributions to the film’s success and expressing hope for the new direction of the sequel.
A Look Back at the No Entry Franchise
The original No Entry, released in 2005 and directed by Anees Bazmee, emerged as a blockbuster in Bollywood. Featuring a star-studded ensemble that included Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly, the film focused on themes of extra-marital affairs and the ensuing chaos. Its comedic elements and engaging storyline contributed to its lasting popularity.
As the production of No Entry 2 progresses, fans are eager to see how the new cast will interpret the beloved franchise. Dosanjh’s departure may bring challenges, but the film’s team remains optimistic about the future of this highly anticipated sequel. The industry will be watching closely as it unfolds.
