Regaal Resources Expands Production with Herbal Gulal Launch
Regaal Resources, a manufacturer based in Kolkata, is set to broaden its product line by introducing herbal gulal, a natural color powder used primarily during festivals. This addition comes alongside the company’s existing offerings, which include gluten, maize flour, icing sugar, custard powder, and baking powder.
The expansion plan involves a significant investment of approximately Rs 430 crore to increase production capacity from 825 metric tonnes to 1,650 metric tonnes at its facility located in Kishanganj, Bihar. This enhancement is anticipated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
Funding and Financial Strategy
To facilitate this growth and manage existing debts, Regaal has launched an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs 210 crore in the second week of August. According to Anil Kishorepuria, the chairman and managing director, a total of Rs 314 crore from the investment will be capitalized in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025-2026, with an additional Rs 116 crore allocated for the first quarter of FY27.
Kishorepuria mentioned that the funding for this project will come from a combination of debt and internal accruals, ensuring that the company has a robust financial footing during this expansion phase. Additionally, the project qualifies for the state investment promotion subsidy offered by the Bihar government, which further supports Regaal’s strategic growth.
Infrastructure Improvements
As part of its expansion strategy, Regaal Resources has also established a power plant intended to provide energy for its manufacturing operations in Bihar. This move is expected to enhance operational efficiency and reduce energy costs, allowing the company to maintain competitive pricing for its products.
Regaal Resources is positioning itself to meet the growing demand for herbal products, particularly in the context of increasing consumer preference for natural and sustainable options. With this strategic expansion, the company aims not only to diversify its product range but also to strengthen its market presence in the specialty food sector.
The launch of herbal gulal reflects a broader trend towards environmentally friendly products, aligning with consumer interests and market demands. As the company embarks on this new venture, it is poised to make a significant impact in both the local and wider markets.
