EESL Appoints A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy as National Advisor
In a significant move to enhance India’s energy efficiency initiatives, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Union Ministry of Power, has appointed A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy as its National Advisor for Government Affairs and Media. Reddy, who brings over three decades of experience in the power and energy sectors, will be responsible for leading communication strategies, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder outreach for EESL.
Reddy’s role will also involve mentoring EESL’s public relations efforts and driving campaigns under Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), the flagship initiative introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the COP26 climate summit. This initiative aims to promote sustainable lifestyles among citizens and strengthen India’s commitment to achieving energy efficiency.
Extensive Experience in Energy Sector
Before his appointment, Reddy served as the Media Adviser for Southern States and Union Territories at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). He has also held the position of CEO at the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM). His innovative approaches to energy conservation have garnered national recognition, particularly for their dual benefits of economic growth and climate change mitigation.
During his tenure at the Chief Minister’s Office in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy spent eight years developing policies aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in the state. His comprehensive background equips him well to lead EESL’s efforts to promote efficient energy use across India.
Commitment to EESL’s Mission
Expressing gratitude for his new role, Reddy emphasized his dedication to strengthening EESL’s mission and enhancing its global brand image in the energy efficiency sector. He stated, “I look forward to working collaboratively to elevate our initiatives and ensure that India plays a pivotal role in global energy efficiency efforts.”
As EESL seeks to expand its influence and effectiveness in promoting energy efficiency, Reddy’s appointment marks a strategic step in aligning communication and outreach with the organization’s goals. His leadership is expected to impact both national policy and public awareness significantly, driving a more sustainable future for India.
