The Delhi Police have detained two Bangladeshi nationals for residing illegally in the capital. The deportation process for the individuals has commenced, according to official statements. This operation was conducted by the Operations Cell of the South West District, which is actively pursuing a crackdown on illegal immigration in the region.

The detained men have been identified as 35-year-old Shishir Hubert Rozario from Ghazipur, Bangladesh, and 33-year-old Mohd. Tauhidur Rahman, a native of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The police have disclosed that Rahman was previously implicated in a case registered under FIR No. 108/20, Section 3/14 of the Foreigner Act, at PS Sector-40 in Gurugram, Haryana.

Operation Details and Background

In a statement, the police revealed that a fresh deportation process has been initiated with support from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Delhi, ensuring all necessary legal procedures have been followed. Officials explained that the initiative aims to deter crime and monitor foreign nationals living illegally in South West Delhi.

A dedicated team was assigned to this operation, led by Inspector Vijay Baliyan, In-Charge of Special Staff (South West), and supervised by ACP Operations Vijaypal Tomar. The team included Sub-Inspector Vikram, Head Constable Satpal, Constable Sanjay, Constable Ashutosh, and Woman Constable Nirmala.

Receiving intelligence about illegal Bangladeshi migrants seeking shelter in Mahipalpur, officers acted swiftly. Upon approaching the suspects, they requested identification documents for verification. Both men failed to produce valid papers and admitted to having entered India illegally over eleven years ago, subsequently overstaying their expired visas.

Commitment to Enforcing Immigration Laws

Following thorough verification and inquiry, the necessary legal steps were taken to commence deportation proceedings through the FRRO. The police emphasized that this successful operation underscores the South West District Police’s zero-tolerance approach toward illegal immigration and their dedication to upholding the rule of law.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address the challenges posed by illegal immigration in the capital, reflecting the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public safety and enforcing immigration regulations.
