RSS Celebrates PM Modi’s 75th Birthday, Highlights Transformation

New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, describing his leadership as transformative for India. In a tribute published on Wednesday through its official publication, the Organiser, the RSS asserted that Modi has significantly altered the trajectory of the country, moving it from a state associated with corruption and indecision to a confident global leader, or “Vishwaguru,” respected worldwide.
The article characterized this “diamond jubilee” as a personal milestone that reflects India’s broader transformation. It emphasized Modi’s rise from modest beginnings, underscoring how his journey symbolizes a shift in Bharat’s global stature. The RSS noted that Modi’s vision was inspired by ancient Indian civilization, aiming to create a nation that balances modern aspirations with traditional values.
Modi’s Early Influences and Political Journey
The RSS highlighted the formative experiences that shaped Modi’s worldview, particularly his upbringing in Vadnagar, a region with deep spiritual roots. Influences from figures such as Swami Vivekananda instilled in him the belief that India was destined to be a “Jagat Guru,” or teacher of the world. Modi’s early life included a significant spiritual journey at the age of 17, which encompassed travels to the Himalayas and various ashrams, ultimately leading him to the RSS.
As Modi advanced in his political career, his decisive turn came in 2001 when he was appointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s relief coordinator following the devastating Gujarat earthquake. Shortly thereafter, he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, where he implemented policies that transformed the state into a beacon of governance and economic growth. Under Modi’s leadership, the Vibrant Gujarat summits attracted substantial foreign investment and showcased his adept disaster management skills.
A Vision for Governance and National Pride
When Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, he captured the nation’s imagination with his promise of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.” The RSS noted that he revolutionized the bureaucratic culture in New Delhi, emphasizing that governance is a continuous responsibility, not a privilege. Weekend activities for ministers shifted from leisure to engaging with communities, particularly in rural areas.
The article also pointed out Modi’s ability to connect with the Indian diaspora during international visits, effectively using “hug diplomacy” to convey strength and build relationships. His engagements at global platforms, including the G20, BRICS, and SCO, positioned India as a formidable player unafraid of tariffs or sanctions.
The RSS acknowledged that Modi’s leadership has been marked by significant projects that fuse India’s spiritual heritage with modernity. The completion of the Ram Mandir and developments like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor are cited as examples of his commitment to restoring India’s cultural pride. Since taking office, Modi’s administration has successfully restored 642 artefacts and constructed a new Parliament building, symbolizing the intertwining of democracy and dharma.
The tribute concluded by reflecting on Modi’s personal changes since the passing of his mother, Heeraben, in 2022. The RSS noted that while he continues to view birthdays as opportunities for service, the loss has brought an emotional void to his celebrations.
As India and the world reflect on Modi’s journey, the RSS emphasizes that his leadership has not only reshaped the nation’s identity but has also laid the groundwork for future generations to build upon.
