India Establishes Extensive Security for Putin’s Visit to Delhi
Delhi has transformed into a fortified environment as President Vladimir Putin arrives for the 23rd India–Russia Summit. This visit marks a significant occasion in diplomatic relations, prompting India to implement an extensive five-layer security framework. This system includes personnel from the National Security Guard (NSG), teams from the Special Protection Group (SPG), snipers, anti-drone units, electronic jammers, and AI-driven monitoring technologies.
In collaboration with Indian security agencies, Russian personnel are assisting in the coordination of these protective measures. Putin is expected to stay at the prestigious ITC Maurya hotel, specifically in the Grand Presidential Suite. His armoured vehicle, the Aurus Senat, has been transported to India solely for this visit.
Heightened Security Amid Global Tensions
The security preparations are particularly noteworthy due to the ongoing global tensions and criticism directed at Russia from Western nations. As a result, India has intensified its security arrangements to ensure a safe and successful summit. Every venue associated with Putin’s itinerary has undergone comprehensive security checks, reinforcing the commitment to safeguard both leaders during their discussions.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has indicated that Narendra Modi and Putin will engage in discussions focused on enhancing strategic, defence, and energy cooperation within the framework of their “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.”
In addition to security measures, the visit coincides with multiple global events, leading to increased hotel tariffs in the area. High-profile gatherings in Delhi have resulted in top hotels reaching record occupancy rates, further highlighting the significance of Putin’s visit.
As the summit approaches, the focus remains on the collaborative efforts between India and Russia, particularly in light of the complex international landscape. The outcomes of this meeting could have substantial implications for both nations as they navigate their respective interests on the world stage.
With such extensive preparations underway, both leaders are set to address key issues that will shape the future of India-Russia relations.
