Dr. Rishikesh Tewari: Pioneering English Education in India

Dr. Rishikesh Tewari has emerged as a prominent figure in Indian English literature and education, gaining international recognition in 2025. Based in Barrackpore, Kolkata, he is a professor, author, linguist, and personality coach, reshaping the landscape of language education by integrating academic principles with practical applications. As the founder of Rishi’s English Club, Dr. Tewari focuses on spoken English, UGC-NET preparation, interview readiness, and soft skills training, making significant strides in enhancing English proficiency among learners.
His educational journey began in West Bengal, where he studied under the ICSE and CBSE boards. Dr. Tewari holds a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Bhairab Ganguly College, as well as an M.A. in Linguistics from Annamalai University, where he was awarded a Gold Medal. He earned a Ph.D. in English Literature from Lovely Professional University and another Ph.D. in English from Selinus University of Science and Literature in Italy. Additionally, he possesses a Post-Doctoral Degree in English from Kennedy University in Paris and has received several honorary degrees, including a D.Litt. in English from the American International University in California.
Despite these academic accolades, Dr. Tewari emphasizes that true education transcends mere qualifications. He states, “A degree is not enough. Transformation comes when a student gains confidence, clarity, and purpose.” This philosophy underpins his extensive authorship, which aims to make English accessible to both scholars and job seekers.
His notable works include titles such as A History of English Literature: From Beginner to Scholar, Universal Spoken English in Your Tips (Vol. 1 & 2), and The Ultimate Interview Handbook. Dr. Tewari’s writing is characterized by clarity and practical insights, offering valuable resources for students preparing for competitive exams and interviews.
Acknowledged Contributions and Awards
Currently a professor at Amity University, Dr. Tewari has also served at renowned institutions like St. Stephen’s School and has delivered guest lectures at prestigious platforms, including Oxford and Cambridge. His ability to inspire confidence in students has garnered him admiration. One student remarked, “Rishi Sir doesn’t just teach you English — he teaches you how to believe in yourself.”
His contributions to literature and education have not gone unnoticed. In 2025, he received multiple accolades, including the London Book of World Records for International English Author and the Global Literary Figure Award from the American Merit Council. Other honors include the India Iconic Award in Literature & Language and the Mentor of Knowledge Award from Yevnet Academy.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Tewari has explored poetry as a means of personal expression. His work, My Beloved Angel, is a poignant tribute to a lost companion, blending themes of grief, love, and healing. Fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali, and French, he uses poetry to reveal a more intimate side of his persona, contrasting with his academic endeavors.
A Vision for the Future
Through Rishi’s English Club, his publications, and his engaging lectures, Dr. Rishikesh Tewari is equipping a generation of learners with both knowledge and the confidence to apply it. He believes that language is more than just a subject; it is a vital life skill. As he poignantly states, “If language is the passport to the future, then every student deserves a visa.”
As India continues to assert itself on the global stage, educators like Dr. Tewari play a crucial role in ensuring students are prepared not just academically but also personally, ready to navigate the challenges of a competitive world.
