PM Modi Celebrates CRPF’s Legacy on Force’s Raising Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the significant contributions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the occasion of its Raising Day, celebrated on March 19. In a message shared on social media platform X, Modi praised the force for its unwavering commitment and bravery in challenging circumstances throughout its history.
The CRPF was established in 1939 as the Crown Representative’s Police and subsequently rebranded following India’s independence. Today, it stands as the largest central police organization in the country, playing a crucial role in maintaining internal security and conducting counterinsurgency operations.
In his remarks, Modi expressed his heartfelt wishes to all CRPF personnel, emphasizing their vital role in India’s security framework. He stated, “This force has played a vital role in our security apparatus, especially in challenging aspects relating to internal security.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the dedication of CRPF members, noting their ability to navigate complex situations with courage and resolve. “CRPF personnel have made a mark for their duty, courage and steadfast commitment in the most testing of situations. Their contribution in overcoming humanitarian challenges is also commendable,” he added.
The CRPF’s extensive history and its evolving mission reflect its importance in safeguarding the nation. From combating insurgency in conflict zones to providing humanitarian assistance during crises, the force has continuously adapted to meet the demands of its multifaceted role.
As the CRPF celebrates this significant milestone, it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by its personnel in the line of duty, reinforcing their status as a pivotal component of India’s security landscape.
