The 16th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) commenced on August 14, 2025, showcasing a vibrant celebration of cinema. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan made a memorable entrance, accompanied by his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, capturing the attention of festival attendees and fans alike. The couple walked hand-in-hand down the red carpet, exuding charm and style.

Aamir Khan, recognized as one of the festival’s esteemed guests this year, donned a traditional white ensemble layered with a sleek black bandhgala coat. Gauri Spratt complemented his sophisticated look with a vibrant purple bandhni-print salwar suit paired with a beige dupatta, embodying understated elegance. The festival’s opening day press conference featured a host of notable personalities from the film industry. Among those present were comedian-actor Vir Das, acclaimed performers Tillotama Shome, Jim Sarbh, and Aditi Rao Hydari, along with celebrated filmmakers Shoojit Sircar, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and RS Prasanna, who directed Sitaare Zameen Par.
