Smriti Mandhana has successfully maintained her position as the top-ranked batter in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings, achieving a career-best rating of 828. This impressive milestone follows her notable performances against the national teams of New Zealand and Bangladesh, where she scored a remarkable 109 runs against New Zealand and an unbeaten 34 against Bangladesh.

Mandhana’s consistent excellence places her nearly 100 points ahead of Australia’s Ash Gardner, who now ranks second with a rating of 731. Gardner’s rise in the rankings is attributed to her outstanding century against England during the ongoing tournament, as confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Mandhana’s stellar form has also earned her the title of ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September 2025, following her impressive contributions in the ODI series against Australia leading up to the World Cup.

Rapid Climbs in the Rankings

Pratika Rawal of India has made a significant leap into the top 30, now positioned at 27th with a rating of 564. Despite her absence from the remainder of the tournament due to injury, Rawal’s consistent performances throughout the series have earned her this recognition.

South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt has also made strides, moving up two places to reach third in the rankings, thanks to her innings of 90 and 31. England’s Amy Jones has entered the top 10 after climbing four spots to secure ninth place with a rating of 656. Annabel Sutherland has shown remarkable improvement, moving up 16 spots to 16th with a rating of 613, marking her as one of the biggest movers in the top 40.

Spin Bowlers Shine in ODI Rankings

The impact of spin bowling has been significant in this tournament, reflecting in the latest ODI rankings. Sophie Ecclestone continues to dominate the Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings, holding a commanding lead with a rating of 747. However, leg-spinner Alana King has emerged as a formidable rival, climbing five places to second after her impressive seven-wicket haul against South Africa, giving her a career-high rating of 698.

Gardner’s performance has solidified her No.1 position in the all-rounder rankings with a rating of 503. Marizanne Kapp has overtaken West Indies’ Hayley Matthews to claim the No.2 spot with a rating of 422. Sutherland’s contributions have propelled her to fourth place, while King’s recent success has earned her a top 10 position, moving up three spots with a rating of 262.
