Rishabh Pant Thanks Fans After Injury Forces Him Out of 5th Test
Rishabh Pant has expressed his gratitude to fans after being ruled out of the fifth Test between India and England due to an injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on October 1, 2023, that the wicketkeeper-batsman would not be able to participate, prompting disappointment among supporters. In his absence, wicketkeeper N Jagdishan has been named as Pant’s replacement for the final match of the series.
Pant took to social media to share an emotional message with his followers. He posted a photograph of himself, stating, “I am grateful for all the love and good wishes I have received. It has really been a source of strength for me. As soon as my fracture heals and I get used to the process, I will start rehab. I will be patient, follow the routine and give my 100 percent. Playing for the country has been the proudest moment of my life, and I am eager to do the same again.”
Outstanding Performance Despite Injury
Throughout the series, Pant has demonstrated remarkable skill and determination. In four Tests against England, he scored a total of 479 runs across seven innings, achieving an impressive average of 68.42 and a strike rate of 77.63. His contributions included three half-centuries and two centuries, showcasing his aggressive batting style that excited fans and kept the matches engaging.
During the first innings of the fourth Test in Manchester, Pant sustained a toe injury after being struck by a ball. Despite the pain, he bravely returned to bat the following day, contributing significantly with a half-century that helped India secure a draw.
Acknowledging the Support
Pant’s performance has made him the third-highest run-scorer in the ongoing Test series, a testament to his talent and resilience. His absence in the final Test is undoubtedly a setback for the Indian team, which has relied on his explosive batting in crucial moments. The cricket community has rallied around Pant, with many expressing their well-wishes for a swift recovery.
As he begins his rehabilitation process, fans are hopeful that Pant will soon return to the field, ready to contribute to India’s cricketing success once again. His commitment to the sport and gratitude towards his supporters reflect the strong bond he shares with the cricketing community.
