Manchester United’s Ugarte Faces Serie A Interest as Transfer Rumors Heat Up
Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte is attracting interest from several clubs in Serie A, as reported by football journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Red Devils are reportedly open to a permanent transfer for the Uruguayan international, rather than a loan arrangement. Ugarte, who joined United from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2024 for a fee that could reach £52 million, has made 49 appearances for the club.
In related transfer news, Manchester City is preparing to make a renewed effort to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi. According to the Daily Mirror, City holds serious interest in the 25-year-old, who is also being pursued by Liverpool. Guéhi is expected to finish the current season with the Eagles before making any decisions about his future. Notably, he is also on the radar of top clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, who may seek to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January.
Contract Talks and Future Moves
Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly being monitored by Real Madrid as they seek to bolster their defensive options. At just 24, Saliba has attracted attention due to his strong performances, but Arsenal is keen to secure his future by accelerating negotiations for a contract extension. He is set to enter the final year of his current deal next summer.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is looking to offload winger Raheem Sterling. According to the Daily Telegraph, the club does not plan to integrate the 30-year-old into manager Enzo Maresca‘s first-team plans despite there being two years left on his contract. Sterling was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window, with clubs such as Napoli and Bayern Munich showing late interest. He has not played for Chelsea since May 2024, following a loan spell at Arsenal last season.
Discussions are also anticipated between Chelsea and representatives of midfielder Moisés Caicedo regarding a potential new contract. The 23-year-old Ecuador international, who joined Chelsea for a fee that could rise to £115 million from Brighton & Hove Albion, has impressed this season, scoring two goals in four league matches. The club aims to secure a long-term contract extension for Caicedo while exploring options to strengthen their central defense.
Additional Transfer Speculations
Other notable names in transfer discussions include Harry Maguire, who is keen to remain at Manchester United, and Marcos Llorente, who is set to receive a new contract offer from Atlético Madrid. Liverpool is also contemplating the future of winger Federico Chiesa, with the January transfer window on the horizon.
Clubs from La Liga and Serie A are reportedly scouting Atlético Mineiro midfielder Igor Gomes, while Juventus has dismissed interest in attacking midfielder Vasilije Adzic, who remains a target for several European clubs. Additionally, Real Sociedad is looking to part ways with striker Umar Sadiq in January after he recently rejoined the squad.
As the transfer window approaches, clubs are actively assessing their options and planning for potential moves. The landscape of football transfers continues to evolve, with significant implications for players and clubs alike.
