Four Key Players to Boost Your Fantasy League Ahead of WNBA Playoffs

As the WNBA playoffs approach, many fantasy leagues have entered their playoff stages. This pivotal moment enhances the importance of roster management, with every decision carrying significant weight. With injuries affecting player availability, particularly for the Indiana Fever, fantasy managers face the challenge of replacing key contributors.
In this context, identifying emerging talent becomes crucial. Managers should consider players who are stepping into larger roles due to team dynamics. Here are four players to target as the season heads into its final stretch.
Emerging Backcourt Talents
Lexie Hull, a guard for the Indiana Fever, has seen her roster percentage climb to 40.7% in ESPN leagues. With multiple starters sidelined, Hull is poised to assume a primary playmaking role. Her increased opportunities for touches, passes, and shots could make her a significant asset in the closing games of the season.
Another player to consider is Leila Lacan of the Connecticut Sun, who is currently rostered in 13.6% of leagues. Although Lacan missed a recent matchup against the Liberty, she is expected to return soon. Her performance has been bolstered by teammate Saniya Rivers, who has impressed with her production in recent weeks. Lacan’s ability to facilitate the offense makes her a valuable addition to any fantasy roster as the team shifts focus to their rookie guards.
Frontcourt Options for Your Roster
In the frontcourt, Jessica Shepard of the Minnesota Lynx presents a mixed bag for fantasy managers. Currently rostered in 24.7% of leagues, Shepard recently posted a massive triple-double, but her performance can be volatile. With superstar teammate Napheesa Collier back in action, Shepard’s workload may fluctuate. Despite this, she remains a key player on a contending team and could deliver substantial fantasy points in crucial matchups.
Lastly, Iliana Rupert of the Golden State Valkyries is another player worth considering. With a roster percentage of just 6.8%, Rupert is benefiting from an injury to Cecilia Zandalasini and a shift in roles within the team. Her strong production during starts has been evident, especially in a recent game against Dallas. Additionally, Janelle Salaun, who is rostered in 30.1% of leagues, could also provide value, albeit with a lower ceiling.
As the WNBA playoff picture becomes clearer, fantasy players should remain vigilant. The ability to adapt and leverage new opportunities, particularly from free agency, will be key in maximizing your roster’s potential. Taking calculated risks on emerging players can lead to significant rewards in the final days of the season.
