Australia has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming home series against the India Under-19 team, set to begin next month. Among the selected players are two cricketers of Indian origin: Aryan Sharma, a batter from Victoria, and Yash Deshmukh, an all-rounder from New South Wales.

The multi-format series will commence with three 50-over matches scheduled for September 21, 24, and 26 at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane. Following the white-ball matches, the teams will compete in two four-day matches, taking place from September 30 to October 3 in Brisbane, and from October 7 to 10 in Mackay.

This series marks the first assignment for Tim Nielsen as the head coach of the U-19 squad. Nielsen, who previously coached the senior Australia men’s team from 2007 to 2011, brings a wealth of international experience to the role. In a statement, Sonya Thompson, Head of National Development at Cricket Australia, expressed enthusiasm about Nielsen’s appointment, stating, “His extensive international experience and leadership will be instrumental in guiding and inspiring Australia’s next generation of cricketers.”

The series is part of Cricket Australia’s long-term strategy focused on player development, aimed at providing young athletes with invaluable international exposure in both white-ball and red-ball formats.
