PhD Scholar to Present Groundbreaking Research at Global Conference
A PhD scholar from Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) will present his research at a significant international event. Sachin, who is pursuing his doctorate in the Department of Agronomy, has been selected to showcase his findings on the impact of organic nutrient management on black gram yield and soil health in the Western Himalayan region of India.
The 8th International Food Legume Research Conference and the 5th Australian Pulse Conference are set to take place from September 15-19, 2025, in Perth, Australia. This joint event is organized by the International Legume Society (ILS) and the Pulse Grains Society of Australia (PGSA). It will gather scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders worldwide to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing productivity, sustainability, and nutritional security through pulses.
Sachin’s research highlights the importance of organic nutrient management in increasing black gram yield and improving soil fertility. This work is particularly relevant to hill agriculture, where eco-friendly practices and resource conservation are vital for the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers.
Recognition and Support from University Leadership
The Vice-Chancellor of CSKHPKV, Dr. Naveen Kumar, expressed his pride in Sachin’s achievement, stating that this recognition reflects the high standard of research conducted at the university. He emphasized that the participation of young scholars in such respected platforms fosters international collaboration and opens new avenues for research and development.
Sachin’s major adviser, Dr. Janardan Singh, Head of the Department of Organic Agriculture and Natural Farming, also congratulated him on this milestone. He praised Sachin for his dedication, hard work, and scientific rigor. Dr. Singh noted that this opportunity would bring international recognition to the university’s initiatives in organic farming, pulse-based cropping systems, and sustainable soil management.
Sachin’s upcoming presentation not only marks a personal achievement but also underscores the university’s commitment to advancing agricultural science and promoting sustainable practices in the region. As he prepares for this significant event, the academic community at CSKHPKV looks forward to the insights he will share on a global stage.
