CIET-NCERT Unveils New Nano Course to Enhance Digital Education
The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) – National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a new Nano Course titled “Online and Digital Education in the Lens of NEP 2020.” This initiative aims to support teachers, teacher educators, and school principals in fulfilling their mandatory professional training requirement of 50 hours for the year. The course is available on the DIKSHA platform, allowing for flexible and accessible learning.
This Nano Course aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes integrating technology into teaching practices. By participating in this course, educators will enhance their digital skills and confidence in utilizing online tools for effective classroom engagement.
Comprehensive Course Structure for Educators
The Nano Course consists of five modules designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of digital education. The modules include:
– Online and Digital Education (Perspectives of NEP, NCF-FS, and NCF-SE)
– Exploring DIKSHA
– Immersive Technologies: AR/VR
– Data-Driven Decision Making
– Integration of Digital Technologies in Teaching and Learning
Each module offers practical insights into modern educational technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Participants will also learn strategies for data-driven planning and technology-enhanced pedagogy.
The course is free of charge and accessible on the DIKSHA platform. Interested participants can enroll until March 10, 2026, with the course concluding on March 15, 2026. Educators can access materials at their convenience, making it ideal for those with busy schedules.

Through these Nano Courses, CIET and NCERT aim to help educators adopt innovative teaching methods that are in line with global educational trends. The training meets the annual professional development requirement of 50 hours, reinforcing the importance of continuous learning in the teaching profession.
