Adani Group Launches AI Centre of Excellence in Baramati
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, is set to inaugurate the Sharad Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence on October 8, 2023, in Baramati, located in the Pune district of India. This initiative aims to enhance research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, with significant backing from the Adani Group.
The inauguration will be attended by a prominent lineup of dignitaries, including Sharad Pawar, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and local representatives such as Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament for Baramati, and Sunetra Pawar, a Member of the Rajya Sabha. Their presence highlights the importance of this event in fostering collaboration between the business sector and educational institutions.

The relationship between Gautam Adani and Sharad Pawar spans nearly two decades, reflecting a long-standing partnership that has seen various collaborative efforts. In 2022, Adani visited Baramati to inaugurate the Science and Innovation Activity Centre, reinforcing the significance of the Pawar family’s educational initiatives.
The new centre of excellence is established under Vidya Pratishthan, a notable educational institution governed by the Pawar family. This facility is expected to serve as a hub for advanced research and training, focusing on developing skills in artificial intelligence and related technologies.
