Veer Nari Shaurya Samman Samaaroh 2025 Recognizes Courageous Families
The Veer Nari Shaurya Samman Samaaroh 2025 commenced in New Delhi to honor the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation. A total of 24 Veer Naris and Veer Matas, representing those who fell in conflict areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, Siachen, and Arunachal Pradesh, were recognized for their extraordinary courage and resilience during the event organized by the Indian Army and the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).
The three-day event began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial. Attendees paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, reflecting on their sacrifices. Following this, a structured welfare interaction was held at the Veer Nari Lounge within the Infantry Officers’ Mess. This session featured presentations from key welfare organizations, including the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), Central Record Offices, and the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES).
These presentations aimed to inform participants about various schemes and entitlements available to Veer Naris and their dependents. Topics covered included financial assistance, health benefits, educational opportunities, and employment facilitation, as outlined in an army statement.
A one-on-one grievance redressal session followed, enabling participants to engage directly with representatives from the respective welfare agencies. This interaction provided a platform for individuals to discuss personal issues and seek solutions tailored to their circumstances.
The Veer Nari Shaurya Samman Ceremony took place later at the Manekshaw Centre, attended by Sunita Dwivedi, President of the Army Wives Welfare Association. This ceremony served to further recognize the contributions of these families and to reinforce the community’s commitment to supporting them.
Events like this underscore not only the sacrifices made by soldiers but also the resilience of their families. Such initiatives highlight the importance of continuing support for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. The Veer Nari Shaurya Samman Samaaroh serves as a reminder of the ongoing dedication to honoring their legacy and ensuring their welfare.
