Uttarakhand Government Grants ACP Benefits to Medical Officers

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced significant benefits for doctors in the state on Friday. Medical officers belonging to the Provincial Medical Services cadre will now receive the advantages of the Special Duty Assured Career Progression (SD-ACP). This decision aims to enhance the financial stability and motivation of healthcare professionals serving in challenging conditions across the region.
In an official statement from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office, Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar confirmed the issuance of orders to implement this policy. The government recognizes that “our doctors are the backbone of the health services of the state,” Dhami noted, emphasizing the dedication of medical personnel from rural areas to mountainous regions. He added that supporting their interests is a priority for the government.
The new ACP benefits will be available under the provisions outlined in Government Order No. 654, dated July 14, 2016, and Government Order No. 154, dated February 4, 2019. The implementation of this benefit will follow recommendations from the screening committee established for this purpose.
Details of the ACP Implementation
The initiative will affect a total of 196 posts across various levels. Specifically, there are 70 posts approved in Level 11, each with a grade pay of Rs 5,400. Additionally, 56 posts exist in Level 12, offering a grade pay of Rs 6,600. For Level 13, the distribution includes 27 posts with a grade pay of Rs 7,600 and 43 posts at a grade pay of Rs 8,700.
This policy is expected to have a positive impact on a large number of medical officers, contributing to the overall enhancement of health services in Uttarakhand. The government’s commitment to improving the working conditions and financial compensation of healthcare professionals is a crucial step toward strengthening the health sector in the state.
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm among those in the medical community, who see it as a recognition of their hard work and dedication. As healthcare continues to evolve in Uttarakhand, the Dhami administration’s support for its medical professionals is likely to foster an environment of greater commitment and service quality.
The implementation of these benefits is anticipated to begin shortly, with further details to be communicated to the affected personnel. This move marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to enhance health services and reinforce the importance of medical professionals in the state’s healthcare system.
