Scott Adams Appeals to Donald Trump for Cancer Treatment Aid
Scott Adams, the creator of the popular comic strip **Dilbert**, is seeking assistance from former President **Donald Trump** to expedite his access to the cancer treatment drug **Pluvicto**. Adams, who is currently battling **metastatic prostate cancer**, reached out after experiencing delays from his healthcare provider, **Kaiser of Northern California**. He believes that Trump’s influence could help secure timely treatment that he describes as critical for his health.
In a post on X, Adams expressed his urgency, stating, “I am declining fast. I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer.” Adams clarified that while Pluvicto is not a cure, it has shown promising results for many patients with similar conditions.
Delay in Treatment Provokes Urgent Appeal
Adams reported that Kaiser had initially approved his application for Pluvicto but failed to arrange the necessary intravenous (IV) treatment. He voiced his frustration, saying, “They have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can’t seem to fix that.” His plea for assistance highlights the challenges patients often face in accessing timely medical treatment.
The situation quickly garnered attention, with members of Trump’s circle responding to Adams’ appeal. **Robert F. Kennedy Jr.**, who serves as Health Secretary, reached out saying, “Scott. How do I reach you? The President wants to help.” Additionally, **Dan Scavino Jr.**, Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, indicated that Trump and other allies were actively monitoring the situation, stating, “No need to wait until Monday—@realDonaldTrump, @RobertKennedyJr, and @DrOz are all tracking now, Scott.”
Adams also received support from **Dr. Mehmet Oz**, the current administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Trump Jr. amplified the call for action by sharing Adams’ post and assuring him, “We’re all praying for you, keep fighting!”
Understanding Pluvicto and Its Importance
**Pluvicto**, or **lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan**, was approved by the **U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)** in **2022** as a treatment option for adults diagnosed with **prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)**-positive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). This therapy is administered to patients who have already undergone hormone therapy, aiming to delay or replace chemotherapy.
The drug operates as a **radioligand therapy**, a targeted form of radiation treatment delivered through an IV infusion. It specifically seeks out and attacks PSMA-positive cells, including cancerous ones, though some healthy cells may also be affected. Adams’ pressing concern centers around the delays in receiving this treatment, as he believes timely intervention is crucial for managing his condition effectively.
Scott Adams is not only recognized for his work in comics but has also been active in political discourse. He initially supported **Mitt Romney** but later endorsed **Donald Trump** during the **2016 elections**, gaining notoriety for his predictions about Trump’s electoral success. Some of his views have sparked controversy, especially regarding future elections and their potential implications.
The appeal for assistance from Trump underscores the intersection of healthcare access and political influence in urgent personal health situations. As Adams awaits a response, the broader conversation about patient care and systemic delays remains at the forefront.
