Jagan Reddy Accuses Naidu of Misleading on Data Centre and Credit Theft

In a recent media briefing in Vijayawada, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSRC, criticized former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly spreading misinformation regarding the Data Centre project and running a liquor racket. Reddy claimed that Naidu’s assertions were “blatant lies” and suggested that the current administration is attempting to divert attention from serious issues.

Reddy specifically addressed the ongoing claims about the Data Centre, asserting that the groundwork for the project was laid during his administration. He stated, “Chandrababu is at his old game again, the same way he took credit for Hyderabad’s Cyber Towers.” According to Reddy, the development of Hyderabad can be traced back to the tenure of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, emphasizing the need to accurately attribute credit for the city’s growth.

The former Chief Minister pointed out that the involvement of major corporations like Google and Adani in the Data Centre project is not new. He revealed that Adani is set to invest ₹87,000 crore in the initiative, with Google poised to manage the facility upon completion. “The credit belongs to the YSRC, not Chandrababu. What he is doing is pure credit chori,” Reddy remarked.

Allegations of Spurious Liquor Operations

Reddy did not stop there; he further accused Naidu and his party of operating a spurious liquor racket. He referenced specific incidents that allegedly expose the role of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the manufacturing and distribution of illicit liquor. Reddy called for Naidu to address these allegations directly instead of shifting focus to opposition parties.

“Jayachandra Reddy, who was nominated by the TDP, referred to distilleries in South Africa in his affidavit. Chandrababu should answer my pointed questions instead of diverting public attention from this,” he contended.

Additionally, Reddy criticized the current alliance government for undermining public health initiatives. He specifically mentioned that reforms to the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme diluted its effectiveness and that government-run medical colleges were handed over to private entities. “This is a betrayal of public health,” he said, announcing a campaign to gather one crore signatures opposing the privatization of medical colleges. Reddy vowed to carry out this effort “with full vigour” to mobilize public opinion against these changes.

By addressing these key issues, Reddy aims to not only clarify the YSRC’s contributions to the state but also to rally support for his party’s vision for governance in Andhra Pradesh.
