Intuc Mobilizes Workers to Support Congress in Hyderabad Byelection
The Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) has launched a campaign urging workers in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, to support the Congress party candidate Naveen Yadav in the upcoming byelection. Union leaders emphasize that the collective voting power of the constituency’s labour force can significantly influence the election’s outcome.
Workers Mobilized for Collective Action
During a recent press interaction, representatives from Intuc highlighted the importance of mobilizing government and private sector workers, as well as those in gig and platform services. They underscored that these groups rely on government policies that prioritize welfare and job security.
Sanjeeva Reddy, the national president of Intuc, articulated that supporting the Congress candidate is essential for reinforcing programs aimed at labour protection and social security. He called upon workers, traders, and informal sector groups in Jubilee Hills to vote for the Congress party’s symbol to ensure the continuation of worker-centric governance in Telangana.
Reddy emphasized the contributions of both national and state leaders in promoting labour-friendly initiatives. He described the byelection as a pivotal moment to strengthen policies focused on social protection and equitable working conditions.
A Platform for Collective Priorities
Speakers at the gathering urged labour groups to view the byelection as an opportunity to assert their collective priorities and maintain a focus on worker concerns within the political sphere. They expressed the intention of Intuc to consolidate voter commitment among employees and informal workers, fostering active participation in selecting a government that aligns with labour aspirations and promotes inclusive growth.
The call to action from Intuc reflects a broader strategy to engage workers in the political process, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in policy-making. By rallying support for Naveen Yadav, Intuc aims to position labour issues at the forefront of the electoral debate in Telangana.
As the byelection approaches, the mobilization of workers in Jubilee Hills could be a decisive factor in determining the outcome, with Intuc leading the charge for a collective vote that champions the rights and needs of the working class.
