The Union government has announced that five ministries will relocate to newly constructed office complexes as part of the ongoing Central Vista redevelopment plan. This decision, confirmed on Wednesday, is intended to facilitate the consolidation of the Central Secretariat.

According to official memorandums issued on the same day, the ministries of youth affairs and sports, social justice and empowerment, women and child development, tribal affairs, and corporate affairs will be moved to GPOA (General Pool Office Accommodation) Block-3 and Kartavya Bhawan-01. The relocation aims to streamline government operations and modernize workspaces.

The ministries of youth affairs and sports, social justice and empowerment, and women and child development will transition from Shastri Bhawan and Sankalp Bhawan to GPOA Block-3. Specifically, youth affairs and sports will occupy the 6th to 8th floors, with designated areas for social justice on the 7th and 8th floors, and women and child development on the 6th and 7th floors.

Parking arrangements for these ministries will be outlined in a forthcoming order, ensuring that logistical needs are met alongside the transition.

Meanwhile, the ministries of tribal affairs and corporate affairs, currently located in Shastri Bhawan and Nirman Bhawan, will shift to Kartavya Bhawan-01. These ministries have been allocated sections on the 3rd floor, including specifically designated work-hall areas to support their operations.

In an effort to ensure a smooth transition, the memorandums instruct all involved ministries to appoint nodal officers. These officers will coordinate with facilitation desks to manage the movement of staff, furniture, files, and IT systems, thereby minimizing disruption during the relocation process.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize government infrastructure and improve efficiency within the Central Secretariat. The Central Vista redevelopment plan has been a focal point for the Union government, aiming to create a more integrated and functional administrative environment.
