Chirag Paswan Declares NDA’s Path to Victory in Bihar Elections

As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set for a “historical victory” in the upcoming two-phased elections. In a statement to reporters on Saturday, Paswan emphasized the strength of the alliance and the commitment to the vision of a developed India, known as Viksit Bharat, as outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Bihar, Paswan highlighted the significance of the NDA’s unity. “It is the strength of our alliance that we are walking hand-in-hand towards a historical victory,” he stated. He noted that Prime Minister Modi has visited Bihar 11 times in the last year, indicating the government’s prioritization of the state’s development.
Strategic Collaboration Among NDA Allies
Paswan addressed concerns regarding the alliance’s candidate nominations, asserting that all 243 candidates have been finalized without any confusion, unlike the rival Mahagathbandhan. He expressed confidence in the NDA’s ability to present a united front. “We have already started our campaign while the Mahagathbandhan is trying to cancel out each other’s claims,” he said.
The leader criticized previous governments led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, citing declining law and order in Bihar during the 1990s. Paswan remarked, “Murder, kidnapping, looting, and robbery were at their peak… RJD and Congress ruined Bihar.” He positioned the NDA as the party focused on development, contrasting it with the opposition alliance, which he claimed promotes crime.
Vision for Bihar’s Future
In further comments, Paswan outlined the NDA’s goal of achieving a “100% strike rate” in the elections. He mentioned the importance of countering false narratives and maintaining a focus on development.
On Friday, Amit Shah reinforced this vision during an address at the Intellectuals Conference in Patna. He stated that if the NDA returns to power, it will transform Bihar into an “industrial hub.” Shah praised the intelligence of Bihar’s youth, declaring, “Now it’s time for Bihar 3.0,” and emphasized that the region could undertake projects that require more intellectual engagement than land.
The statements from both leaders reflect the NDA’s strategic positioning ahead of the elections, as they seek to galvanize support and present a cohesive plan for Bihar’s future development. With the elections set to take place soon, the political landscape in Bihar continues to evolve, setting the stage for a significant electoral battle.
