Vegetable Seller Wins ₹11 Crore in Punjab Lottery, Life Changes Forever
A vegetable seller from Rajasthan has transformed his life by winning ₹11 crore in the Punjab State Lottery. This fortunate turn of events occurred when Amit Sehra purchased a ticket for the Diwali Bumper 2025 from a shop in Bathinda, after borrowing money from a friend. The official results were announced on October 31, 2025, and the jackpot has left Sehra in disbelief.
Sehra, who hails from Kotputli in Jaipur, expressed his overwhelming emotions, stating that he was initially unsure about how to navigate the process of claiming his prize. He admitted to not having enough funds to travel to Chandigarh to complete the necessary formalities. “It is God’s blessing that he gave me ‘chhappar phad ke’ (an unexpected and large reward),” he shared, tears in his eyes.
The vegetable seller plans to use the windfall to secure a better future for his two young children, focusing on their education. In a gesture of gratitude, Sehra also intends to give ₹1 crore to his friend, Mukesh, who lent him the money to purchase the lottery ticket. This act of kindness underscores the importance of friendship and support during difficult times.
Such significant lottery wins are not uncommon in India, where millions of people participate in various state lotteries, hoping for a life-changing event. Sehra’s win highlights the potential impact of luck and opportunity, especially for those in modest professions.
This remarkable story serves as a reminder of how a small decision, like buying a lottery ticket, can lead to monumental changes in one’s life. As Sehra embarks on this new chapter, the community in Kotputli and beyond will undoubtedly rally behind him, celebrating not just his luck but the hope that such fortunes can inspire in others.
