St Mary’s School Celebrates Teacher’s Day with Joy and Tribute
St Mary’s English Medium School in Kannarpady, Udupi, celebrated Teacher’s Day on September 4, 2023, with an event held at the school’s auditorium. The celebration began with a prayer song performed by the student choir, creating a respectful atmosphere for the occasion.
The ceremony included the principal, vice principal, and academic coordinators, who all played significant roles in acknowledging the contributions of educators. Head boy Snehal Hegde delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting teachers, guests, and fellow students. A floral tribute was presented to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, whose birthday is recognized as Teacher’s Day in India.
The importance of the day was underscored by students Shanvi and Hajra, who spoke about the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of their students. Following these tributes, the principal addressed the gathering, sharing motivating insights and commending the dedication and hard work of the teachers.
To commemorate the occasion, a cake was cut, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. One of the highlights of the event was the series of games organized for the teachers, where they participated in various fun activities. Young students from the kindergarten presented awards to the teachers, creating joyous moments filled with laughter.
The cultural programme showcased a vibrant display of group songs, dances, and drama performances centered around the theme of Teacher’s Day. The energetic presentations by the students served as a heartfelt tribute to the guidance and support their teachers provide.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nishka N, who expressed gratitude to all participants, teachers, and students for contributing to the success of the celebration. Anchors Shivani and Anushka from grade 10 ensured the smooth flow of the programme, keeping the audience engaged throughout the proceedings.
Organized by the school parliament, the Teacher’s Day celebration was a meaningful tribute to the educators who significantly influence the lives of their students. The event successfully highlighted the appreciation and gratitude felt towards teachers, marking a day filled with joy and recognition for their essential contributions.
