Savita Honored with Skoch Award for BC Youth Empowerment

S. Savita, the Minister for Backward Classes (BC) Welfare, will be honored today with the prestigious Skoch Award in New Delhi. The accolade recognizes her department’s effective initiatives aimed at empowering unemployed BC youth through free coaching for competitive examinations. The award ceremony is set to take place at Oak Hall, a prominent venue in the national capital.

Minister Savita departed for Delhi on Friday night accompanied by senior officials from the BC Welfare Department. Under her leadership, the department has established BC study circles throughout the state, offering free coaching to candidates preparing for important exams such as the Mega DSC and civil services.

The initiative has proven successful, with a total of 6,470 BC aspirants benefiting from the training programs. Among these, 1,674 candidates received coaching at district study circle centers, while 4,774 opted for online training. The outcomes have been promising; a noteworthy 241 BC candidates have secured teaching positions after completing their coaching.

Impact of Coaching Programs

The efforts of the Vijayawada study circle stand out, where 83 aspirants received training for civil services examinations. The results were significant: 12 qualified for Group-2 mains, 10 for RRB Level-1, two for FRO prelims, and one for FRO mains. Additionally, the program saw the selection of six candidates as police constables, along with one individual who achieved a position as a loco pilot in the RRB.

The Skoch Award affirms the dedication of the BC Welfare Department to fostering opportunities for BC youth. As Minister Savita prepares to accept this recognition, the ongoing commitment to providing essential resources for competitive examination preparation remains clear.
