PM Modi Launches Major Projects and Museum in Chhattisgarh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Raipur on Saturday, highlighting the rich history and legacy of the region’s freedom fighters. This event coincides with the silver jubilee celebration of the Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day, marking 25 years since the state’s establishment.
As part of the celebration, PM Modi will attend the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav and announce a series of developmental projects worth over Rs 14,260 crore, focusing on critical sectors such as roads, industry, healthcare, and energy. He will also inaugurate the new building of the Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha and unveil a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit are underway, with hundreds of residents expected to welcome him along the route with placards expressing their support.
Community Engagement and Health Initiatives
Within the framework of the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ program, PM Modi will interact with 2,500 children who have undergone treatment for congenital heart diseases during the ‘Gift of Life’ ceremony at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur. Following this, he will inaugurate the “Shanti Shikhar” of the Brahma Kumaris, a modern center focused on spiritual learning and meditation.
In honour of the region’s tribal heritage, the Prime Minister will officially open the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, launch its online portal, and introduce the e-book titled “Aadi Shourya,” which pays tribute to local freedom fighters. He will also unveil a horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh at the memorial site.
The museum showcases numerous historical exhibits, personal artifacts, and narratives that detail the struggle against colonial rule and the journey towards India’s independence. It employs modern technology, including projection mapping, an AI Photo Booth, and interactive displays that enhance the visitor experience.
Boosting Rural Development and Infrastructure
To strengthen rural economies, PM Modi will inaugurate 12 new blocks under the Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) across nine districts in Chhattisgarh. He will also participate in the Griha Pravesh ceremony for 351,000 completed houses and release Rs 1,200 crore as an installment for three lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). This initiative aims to provide dignified housing and enhance security for rural households throughout the state.
Additionally, to improve connectivity, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon to Kunkuri. This highway, which connects to the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand Border, is being developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at an estimated cost of Rs 3,150 crore.
Through these initiatives, PM Modi aims not only to commemorate the rich heritage of Chhattisgarh but also to drive significant economic development and improve the quality of life for its residents.
