Modi Dominates Global Approval Ratings; Trump Lags Behind
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has again secured his position as the world’s most popular leader, achieving a remarkable 75% approval rating according to data from the Morning Consult Global Leader Approval Tracker. This survey, conducted from July 4–10, 2025, reflects the opinions of adults across various democracies, highlighting Modi’s significant lead over other international figures including Lee Jae Myung, the President of South Korea, and Javier Milei, the President of Argentina.
The approval ratings indicate a strong level of global confidence in Modi’s leadership. Only 18% of respondents expressed disapproval, while 7% remained undecided. The findings suggest a solid endorsement of Modi’s policies and governance style among the electorate.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP IT Cell, commented on the results on the social media platform X, stating that Modi is the “most trusted leader worldwide.” This affirmation resonates with the ongoing narrative of Modi’s leadership, especially ahead of upcoming electoral challenges in India.
The ratings from Morning Consult reflect a broader trend of approval for Modi, who has maintained a consistently high level of support since he first took office. His popularity in international forums and among global leaders has positioned him as a prominent figure in international politics.
In comparison, former U.S. President Donald Trump trails significantly in the same rankings. While exact figures for Trump were not disclosed, his lower standing highlights the shifting dynamics of global leadership and public opinion.
As Modi continues to garner support, the implications for India’s role on the world stage remain significant. His leadership style and political strategies will likely influence not only India’s domestic policies but also its international relationships as he prepares for the next phase of governance.
The Morning Consult ratings serve as a valuable barometer for understanding public sentiment towards global leaders, offering insights into the effectiveness of their policies and the perception of their governance. As political landscapes evolve, these metrics provide a snapshot of the current climate of trust and approval among the world’s citizens.
