John Mayer Announces First-Ever Concert in India for 2026
American singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer will perform in India for the first time on January 22, 2026, in Mumbai. The announcement has generated significant excitement among fans, many of whom describe the event as a long-held dream come true. Mayer, a seven-time Grammy Award winner, is renowned for his hits such as “Wonderland,” “Gravity,” and his rendition of “Free Fallin’.” His upcoming performance is set to showcase a selection of his most beloved songs.
Fans across India have shared their enthusiasm following the news, expressing their eagerness to witness Mayer live on stage. Sumit Chowdhury, a drummer from Mumbai, noted, “I have been waiting for him to visit India since Lollapalooza started here. We have only been hearing rumors that John Mayer will come. Finally, that is coming true, and I am so excited.” Chowdhury mentioned that his favorite albums include “Continuum,” “Room for Squares,” and “Born and Raised.”
In Bengaluru, publicist Lynn Misquith echoed this sentiment, stating, “I can hardly contain my excitement for the John Mayer concert! Being based in Bengaluru means I’ll have to make all the travel arrangements, but honestly, that’s part of the fun when it’s for something this special.” Misquith emphasized the thrill of being in the crowd and experiencing the energy of Mayer’s performance.
Another Bengaluru resident, Ujyant Ramesh, shared a poignant memory of discovering Mayer’s music. “It all started with ‘Slow Dancing in a Burning Room’ at the age of six. There’s probably not a single weekend where his finest hits aren’t enjoyed by my family and me.” Ramesh expressed anticipation for the live performance, highlighting Mayer’s unique guitar skills and the potential for improvisation during the concert.
Creative professional Vinay Vishwakarma also expressed his excitement, describing the concert as “literally a dream come true.” He mentioned that Mayer is among his top five artists, and he has considered traveling internationally to see him perform. Vishwakarma said, “I’ve been refraining from booking Lollapalooza tickets for the last two years because they never managed to get Mayer to India. I’m so glad that he is doing a solo show.”
As the date approaches, fans in India continue to express their joy and anticipation for this milestone event. Mayer’s concert is expected to draw a large crowd, uniting music lovers who have long awaited the chance to see the acclaimed artist perform live in their country.
