Handcrafted Artistry Shines at “The Collectibles” Exhibition

An exhibition celebrating the intersection of culture and craftsmanship, “The Collectibles,” opened on January 5, 2024, at the Theory of Everything in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. This showcase features handcrafted jewellery and art that express identity and individuality through intricate beading and micro pavé work. The event was inaugurated by Sudha Reddy, Founder of SR Foundation and Director of MEIL, alongside Aisshwarya D.K.S. Hegde, entrepreneur and daughter of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
The exhibition will remain open for two days, allowing visitors to explore a collection inspired by the traditional beadwork of Gujarat. Each piece of jewellery combines glass beads with precious materials, including gold, silver, diamonds, and gemstones, creating unique stories through their designs. “Collectibles are not just about owning something; they are about preserving meaning and memories,” noted both Reddy and Hegde. They emphasized that the exhibition aims to engage those who view fashion as a form of self-expression.
Exploring Modern Craftsmanship
Located in the thriving heart of Hyderabad, Theory of Everything blurs the lines between fashion, art, and culture. It transforms design into a tangible experience that resonates with modern sensibilities. The fine jewellery brand Moi, founded by Kunal and Puja Shah, crafted this special collection, reinterpreting India’s design heritage for contemporary audiences. Each piece is not only handcrafted but also enhanced with technology, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern precision.
In a city celebrated for its traditional and bridal fashion, Theory of Everything offers a refreshing alternative, highlighting cutting-edge designs and a commitment to craftsmanship. The exhibition features contributions from various designers, including Arjun Saluja, Jodi Life, Lafaani, and Sameer Madan. Additionally, brands such as Namza, No Name Jewelry, De’anma, Naso, Slomotion, and Quarter HQ contribute new textures and perspectives to the collection.
During the inauguration, Moi and Theory of Everything collectively unveiled a special showcase titled “A Time Traveller’s Keepsakes.” This presentation invited guests to delve into the fluid realms of time and design, providing an immersive experience filled with creativity and meaning. Several notable personalities, including Nymisha Reddy, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, attended the event, admiring the exquisite jewellery and fashion displays.
Guests expressed appreciation for the craftsmanship on display and congratulated the organisers for curating such a distinctive exhibition. The event underscored the significance of handcrafted artistry in a rapidly changing fashion landscape, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage while embracing modernity.
