Coromandel Strengthens Community Infrastructure in Visakhapatnam
Coromandel International Limited has inaugurated a multipurpose community hall in **Pilkavanipalem village**, enhancing local infrastructure as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The new facility will benefit over **420 families**, providing a dedicated space for celebrations, cultural programs, and social gatherings. This development aims to strengthen community ties and promote social cohesion in the area.
The inauguration ceremony featured notable attendees, including **PGVR Naidu**, the MLA for Vizag West, and **Anga Durga Prasanthi**, Director of the Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation. Senior leaders from Coromandel, **M. Gnanasundaram**, Vice President and Plant Head, and **C. Jayagopal**, Head of CSR, were also present, alongside community leaders and local representatives.
In addition to the community hall, Coromandel launched a **reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water plant** under its **CoroNeer initiative**. This facility will provide clean drinking water to over **600 families** across three villages: Kunchalamma Colony, Pilkavanipalem, and Uppara Colony. Access to clean water is expected to significantly improve the physical well-being of residents of all ages.
Community Engagement and Health Initiatives
A community open gym was also inaugurated in **Sriram Nagar**, located in the 58th Ward of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. This facility is anticipated to benefit over **100 community members daily**, including senior citizens, youth, and women, promoting health and fitness within the community.
During the event, MLA PGVR Naidu emphasized the importance of access to clean drinking water and health-promoting spaces. “These new additions will benefit people across all age groups—from children to senior citizens—and help foster a healthier, more engaged society,” he noted.
M. Gnanasundaram expressed that these infrastructure projects reflect Coromandel’s commitment to the local community. “By creating accessible spaces for social interaction, ensuring access to clean drinking water, and promoting physical well-being through fitness infrastructure, we are working towards building healthier and more resilient communities,” he stated.
Coromandel International’s initiatives not only enhance local infrastructure but also underscore the company’s dedication to community development and well-being. As these facilities become operational, they are expected to play a vital role in improving the quality of life for residents in and around **Visakhapatnam**.
