13-Year-Old Adwaith M. Sree Dazzles at Malappuram Arts Festival
A remarkable performance unfolded at St. Gemma’s Girls Higher Secondary School in Malappuram when Adwaith M. Sree, a 13-year-old prodigy from Kozhikode, showcased his extraordinary musical talents at the school’s arts festival. The event, held last week, left both students and teachers in awe as Adwaith skillfully played five different instruments: tabla, harmonium, beatbox, melodica, and keytar.
The festival began with Adwaith inaugurating the event by lighting a lamp, marking the start of a musical journey that captivated the audience. He opened his performance on the tabla, followed by renditions on the harmonium, cajon, melodica, and keytar, introducing each instrument to the enthusiastic students. Adwaith’s interpretation of classic melodies, including “Oru murai vanthu paarthaaya” on tabla and “Kajara muhabbat wala, ankhiyo me aisa dala” on harmonium, had students swaying and singing along.
As the performance progressed, the atmosphere became electric. Adwaith descended into the crowd, surrounded by an enthusiastic group of dancing girls. With the keytar in hand, he drew the audience deeper into his musical world. The performance reached a high point when he launched into a vibrant 10-minute medley, blending popular hits from Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam music. His rendition of songs like “Appudi podu podu podu” and “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast” sent the audience into a frenzy, with some students cheering for more.
The festival’s headmistress, E.A. Shijimol, along with school manager Sr. Luseena, principal Sr. Joicy, and PTA president M. Sajeeb, praised Adwaith’s remarkable talent. His performance drew comparisons to renowned keyboard maestro Stephen Devassy, with many envisioning a bright future for the young musician. Mr. Devassy, who had previously expressed admiration for Adwaith’s talent on social media, showcased his support following the performance.
After the hour-long show, students eagerly lined up for photographs with Adwaith, wanting to capture a moment with the budding star. The festival not only celebrated artistic expression but also highlighted the potential of young talents in the region.
Adwaith M. Sree’s performance at St. Gemma’s Girls Higher Secondary School exemplifies the power of music to inspire and unite people. His ability to juggle multiple instruments with the finesse of a seasoned performer was a testament to his dedication and passion for music. As he continues to develop his skills, the future holds exciting possibilities for this young musical talent.
