KIMS Hospitals Unveils Thane’s First AI-Enhanced 5G Ambulance
KIMS Hospitals has launched Thane’s first AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, marking a significant advancement in emergency medical services. Developed in collaboration with Medulance, this innovative vehicle aims to improve the speed and quality of patient care during critical medical situations. The smart ambulance was introduced with a live demonstration at KIMS Hospitals, emphasizing its ability to transmit real-time patient vitals—such as ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation—directly to the hospital’s emergency response team.
The integration of advanced artificial intelligence and low-latency 5G connectivity allows medical professionals to analyze patient data instantly while the ambulance is en route to the hospital. This capability means that life-saving interventions can be initiated even before the patient arrives at the medical facility.
Transforming Emergency Medical Response
Dr. Ankit Biyani, Head of Emergency Medicine at KIMS Hospitals, highlighted the importance of quick responses in emergency situations. He stated, “The golden hour can mean the difference between life and death in cases of trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke. With our AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, clinical decisions can begin before the patient reaches the hospital—redefining what timely intervention looks like in emergency care.”
The AI technology does not merely track vital signs; it actively analyzes them, providing immediate insights to medical teams. This two-way communication system ensures that critical care units are adequately prepared for the patient’s arrival, enhancing overall treatment efficiency.
A Commitment to Patient-Centric Innovation
Saurabh Gupta, Regional Chief Operating Officer at KIMS Hospitals, expressed that this launch represents a significant commitment to patient-first innovation. “This launch is more than a technological milestone—it reflects our deep commitment to patient-first innovation. By merging 5G connectivity with AI capabilities, we aim to significantly reduce emergency response times and save more lives through unparalleled medical excellence for the people of Thane and Maharashtra,” he noted.
Dr. Amit Raodeo, Chief of Critical Care at KIMS, further emphasized the potential impact of the smart ambulance on patient outcomes. He remarked, “With emergencies, every second matters. The AI-driven smart ambulance gives us a clear clinical window even before the patient reaches us, which can be the difference between recovery and long-term damage.”
The introduction of this AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance sets a new standard for emergency medical response in Thane and could serve as a model for other healthcare providers throughout the region. By effectively integrating state-of-the-art technology into emergency care, KIMS Hospitals is taking decisive steps toward revolutionizing how critical medical support is delivered, bringing the future of emergency medicine to the roads of Maharashtra.
