Coimbatore Doctor S. Vetrivel Chezian Joins Glasgow College as Advisor
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow has appointed Dr. S. Vetrivel Chezian as an international advisor for India. Dr. Chezian, who serves as the Director of the Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), received the official confirmation of his appointment last week from John Scott, the International Director and Vice-President for Surgery at the college.
This appointment marks a significant milestone for both Dr. Chezian and the Indian medical community. The role is set for a duration of three years, with a review planned after the first year to evaluate his performance and the satisfaction of all parties involved. Dr. Chezian brings 35 years of experience in the medical field, which will contribute to his new responsibilities.
As an international advisor, Dr. Chezian will act as a crucial liaison between the Royal College and its members and fellows in India. His duties will include promoting the college’s programs, facilitating communication among members, and providing guidance to medical graduates seeking training and career opportunities in the United Kingdom.
In response to the news, Vanathi Srinivasan, the Member of Legislative Assembly for Coimbatore South, expressed pride in Dr. Chezian’s achievement. She highlighted the significance of this appointment for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and India as a whole, emphasizing the recognition it brings to the region.
Dr. Chezian’s new role is expected to enhance the collaboration between India and the Royal College, fostering opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development within the medical community.
