Teja Sajja’s ‘Mirai’ Thrills Audiences, Earns Rs 27.5 Crore in Two Days

Teja Sajja’s latest film, Mirai, has rapidly gained traction at the box office, earning an impressive Rs 27.5 crore within just two days of its release. The Telugu fantasy-action film, which debuted on September 12, 2025, has drawn audiences with its unique blend of mythology, action, and emotional depth, marking a significant success for Sajja and the film’s creative team.
Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, Mirai showcases a talented cast that includes Ritika Nayak, Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, and Shriya Saran. The film’s opening day saw earnings of Rs 13 crore, which then grew by 11.5% on its second day, bringing in an additional Rs 14.5 crore. The Telugu version has been the strongest performer, contributing Rs 22.65 crore, while the Hindi version added Rs 4.45 crore to the total.
Engaging Storyline and Themes
Set against a backdrop where mythology meets futurism, Mirai follows the journey of Vedha Prajapati, a warrior skilled in a form of traditional stick fighting known as karra saamu. His mission is to protect nine sacred scriptures originally authored by Emperor Ashoka, scriptures that hold the divine power to elevate mortals to the status of gods. The antagonist, Mahabir Lama, leads a group called the Black Sword, intent on seizing the scriptures to unleash chaos upon the world.
The film delves into themes of faith, destiny, and the struggle for power. As Vedha confronts Mahabir, who is driven by profound personal trauma and societal rejection, the narrative weaves a tale of inner strength, belief, and sacrifice. The combination of visually stunning effects and a gripping storyline has resonated deeply with viewers.
A Captivating Experience
Audiences have gravitated towards Mirai due to its compelling mix of fantasy and emotionally charged storytelling. The film’s high-quality visuals and intense action sequences have particularly highlighted the performances of lead actors, including Teja Sajja, Manoj Manchu, and Ritika Nayak. Critics have noted that the film’s spiritual undertones, paired with its action-packed climax, provide both entertainment and substance, setting it apart in contemporary Telugu cinema.
With a solid box office performance attributed to positive word-of-mouth and the strength of its narrative, Mirai is shaping up to be one of the standout films of the year. As it continues to attract viewers, the film is likely to maintain its momentum, further solidifying the reputations of its cast and crew in the industry.
