Tanin Films Unveils First Tulu Film “Production Number 1”

On October 16, 2023, Tanin Films officially launched its first Tulu movie titled “Production Number 1,” marking a significant milestone in the Tulu film industry. This project is spearheaded by actor and filmmaker Rahim Sacheripete and aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Tulunadu. The launch ceremony took place at the Sri Dharmadaiva Jarandaya Temple in Pilar, where local priest Gunakar Poojari performed traditional rituals to bless the production.

Creative Team and Production Details

The film is directed by renowned theatre director Manohar Shetty Nandalike, who has a strong background in both Tulu and Kannada theatre. The production team includes cameramen Sainath Shetty and Sudheer Shetty, while film producer and actor Dr. Rajshekhar Kotiyan had the honor of giving the clap to officially commence filming. The project is based on Nagraj Gurupur’s Dolu Natak, with the screenplay and dialogues crafted by active theatre director Viddu. The screenplay draws from the writings of playwright Narayan Shetty Nandalike.

The film’s cinematography and editing are in the capable hands of Prajwal Suvarna, while Shrutin Shetty and Kishore Pillar serve as production managers. Other key contributors include Manjunath Shettigar, responsible for makeup, and composer Shinoy Joseph, who will create the film’s musical score.

Cast and Cultural Significance

Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Mohan Sheni, Uday Poojari Ballal, and Roop Vorkady, among others. The film aims to reflect the cultural life, traditions, and beliefs of Tulunadu, providing audiences with an authentic experience of Tulu heritage.

Filming will take place across various locations within Tulunadu from October 16 to November 10, 2023. The announcement of this project has already generated excitement among Tulu film enthusiasts, who eagerly anticipate the cultural narratives that will unfold on screen.
