Sonali Bendre Embraces TV Career, Calls It a Life-Changing Decision

Sonali Bendre has reflected on her decision to enter television, stating that it has been one of the best choices of her career, despite facing initial criticism. Currently co-hosting the show Pati Patni Aur Panga on Colors TV, Bendre emphasized the financial benefits and the lasting connection with her audience as key factors in her decision.
Bendre, who first gained prominence in the film Hum Saath-Saath Hain, transitioned to television with her debut in Kya Masti Kya Dhoom. Despite skepticism from industry peers and fans, she proceeded with her television career, which she now acknowledges as a pivotal moment. In an interview with the Press Trust of India (PTI), she noted, “Everybody thought I had lost the plot because television was not the thing to do. It was like, ‘Why are they doing TV?’ But it was a great show, I loved the concept of that show, and I thought it was a fantastic paycheck.”
Bendre credited her husband, Goldie Behl, for encouraging her to pursue television. “This (TV) is the future, television is going to become big,” Behl advised her. Following his guidance, she decided to give it a shot, ultimately describing television as the best thing in her life.
“Children who used to see me during my first reality show are all grown up now, and they still remember me,” she shared. This connection with fans, according to Bendre, is crucial for a celebrity’s longevity. She explained that her television roles have helped her maintain relevance in the industry.
Excitement Around Pati Patni Aur Panga
The show Pati Patni Aur Panga features Bendre alongside comedian Munawar Faruqui, promising a mix of drama, laughter, and love as six celebrity couples engage in entertaining challenges. Among the confirmed participants are popular pairs such as Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal, and Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad.
Each couple will compete in various tasks designed to test their compatibility and sense of humor. Viewers can expect everything from teamwork challenges to light-hearted disputes, along with charming moments that highlight the complexities of love.
As television continues to evolve, Bendre’s journey reflects a shift in the industry, where reality shows offer a platform for celebrities to connect with fans in a more personal and relatable way. With her experience and insight, Bendre remains an influential figure in the entertainment world, showcasing the potential of television as a major career avenue.
