Shubhangi Atre Exits Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai After 10 Years
Shubhangi Atre has officially concluded her journey on the television series Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, marking the end of a nearly decade-long tenure as Angoori Bhabhi. The actress wrapped up her final episode last week, paving the way for the return of the original Angoori, Shilpa Shinde. The show’s creators, Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli, made the announcement as fans anticipate the transition back to the original cast.
Reflecting on her departure, Atre expressed deep gratitude for her time on the show. “I walk away with nothing but gratitude,” she stated, emphasizing that her exit aligns with her promise to begin and end her journey with integrity. Atre took over the role in 2016, after Shinde’s initial departure, and has since made the character her own.
Emotional Farewell and New Beginnings
The decision to leave was far from easy for Atre. She described the experience as deeply emotional, akin to leaving home. “The character had become a part of me,” she noted, sharing that the last days of filming were particularly poignant. Atre views her exit as an opportunity for new experiences, stating, “As an artiste, I want to explore new characters. The idea is to step out of here and start looking for work again.”
Atre also reflected on the challenges of assuming a role previously portrayed by another actor. “Replacing someone is never easy,” she explained, highlighting the need to honor the original character while injecting her own personality into the role. “I am grateful that viewers accepted me with so much love,” she added, recognizing the support she received from the audience throughout her tenure.
A Fond Wish for the Future
In a twist of fate, this is not the first time Atre has stepped into a role previously played by Shinde. She had taken on the character of Koyal Narayan in Chidiya Ghar before Shinde returned to it later. With a sense of humor, Atre remarked, “I just want to say that I am ending this replacement game now.”
Her sentiments towards Shinde are warm, as she expressed her best wishes for her return to the show. “I wish Shilpa all the very best and also the entire team for the 2.0 version of the show,” Atre said. She emphasized her affection for Shinde, calling her a fantastic actor and expressing genuine fondness.
As the show transitions to its next phase, fans can expect a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy with Shinde’s return, while Atre embarks on her next chapter in her acting career.
