Priyanka Chopra Celebrates with Mahesh Babu’s Family Amid Film Shoot
Actress Priyanka Chopra was recently spotted enjoying quality time with the family of Indian actor Mahesh Babu while working on the film Varanasi. The gathering included Namrata Shirodkar, Mahesh Babu’s wife, and their daughter Sitara, along with SS Karthikeya, son of renowned director SS Rajamouli.
In a social media post, Sitara shared a cheerful group picture to celebrate Karthikeya’s birthday, captioning it “Happy birthday Karth anna.” Karthikeya responded with gratitude, stating “Thank you.” The image features Priyanka on the left with her mother, Madhu Chopra, while Namrata and Sitara stand smiling on the right, with Karthikeya at the end.
Priyanka Chopra’s Heartfelt Tribute
Prior to this gathering, Chopra attended the Varnasi Globe Trotter event in Hyderabad, where she delivered an emotional speech about collaborating with Mahesh Babu. Expressing her appreciation for his family, she noted how they made her feel welcome during the filming process.
Notably, Priyanka also shared a lively video of herself dancing with Karthikeya to AR Rahman’s iconic track “Urvashi Urvashi.” She captioned the playful clip, “Take it easy, my friend. To the man who silently holds up the fort. Happy Birthday SS Karthikeya. So happy to be dancing through this movie with you.” This highlights the camaraderie developing on set.
Details on Varanasi
The film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, is set for release in January 2027. The trailer, unveiled at the Globe Trotter event, promises a visually stunning narrative steeped in mythology. It features a time-travelling adventure, beginning with an asteroid crashing into Earth, impacting locations such as Varanasi, Antarctica, and Africa.
The trailer suggests that the storyline spans several centuries, potentially linking to the Ramayana. It concludes with a striking image of Mahesh Babu wielding a trident, appearing bloodied while riding a bull, with temples visible in the backdrop. He portrays the character Rudhra, while Priyanka plays Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran takes on the role of the antagonist, Kumbha.
This gathering of talents not only underscores the collaborative spirit of the film but also reflects the personal connections that enhance the filmmaking experience.
