Prabhas Unveils First Look of Epic Film ‘Fauzi’ on Birthday

On his 46th birthday, Indian actor Prabhas revealed the first official look of his highly anticipated film, Fauzi. This action-drama, set against the backdrop of 1940s British India, features a story centered around a soldier’s journey during the pre-Independence era. The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
The unveiling occurred on October 23, 2023, when the makers released a teaser poster showcasing an intense close-up of Prabhas. The image is complemented by visuals of arms and the British-era flag, indicating the film’s high-stakes narrative. This period drama promises to blend themes of war, patriotism, and the struggles of soldierhood.
In Fauzi, Prabhas portrays a courageous soldier or revolutionary, supported by a stellar cast that includes veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada. Newcomer Imanvi takes on the female lead role. The film’s music is crafted by Vishal Chandrasekhar, while the technical team features acclaimed cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
Filming has commenced in locations including Madurai, utilizing large-scale sets and period-specific production design to authentically recreate the 1940s setting. Although an official release date has not yet been announced, the film is expected to debut in 2026, potentially coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations.
Prabhas remains a prominent figure in Indian cinema, having recently appeared in Nag Ashwin‘s Kalki 2898 AD. He also made a cameo in Vishnu Manchu‘s Kannappa, which featured special appearances from notable actors such as Akshay Kumar and Mohan Lal.
Looking ahead, Prabhas is set to release a remastered version of the acclaimed Baahubali saga on October 31, 2023. This re-edited film merges both parts of the epic, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), offering upgraded visuals and several never-before-seen sequences. Additionally, he will star in Raja Saab, scheduled for release on January 9, 2024.
The excitement surrounding Fauzi and Prabhas’s upcoming projects underscores his enduring popularity and the anticipation for new storytelling in Indian cinema.
