Katherine LaNasa Triumphs at 2025 Emmy Awards with Emotional Speech
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, held on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated exceptional talent in television. Among the standout winners was actress Katherine LaNasa, who received the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Pitt.
LaNasa appeared visibly emotional as she accepted her award, expressing her gratitude to the Academy. Holding the coveted golden statuette, she stated, “Oh my goodness, I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy. My whole career, I wanted to work for John Wells, and he elevates everything.” Her heartfelt remarks resonated with the audience, highlighting her dedication to her craft.
In her acceptance speech, LaNasa also acknowledged the support she received from the medical professionals who inspired her character in the series. She extended her thanks to her co-stars, including Noah Wylie, for their collaboration. Most touching were her words for her family, specifically her children and husband, Grant Show. “Lastly, my children for making me real and my beautiful husband Grant Show for helping me always with everything,” she said, eliciting a loud cheer from the crowd.
LaNasa’s victory was particularly noteworthy given the competitive field in which she was nominated. She faced strong contenders such as Patricia Arquette from Severance, Carrie Coon from The White Lotus, and several others, including Aimee Lou Wood and Natasha Rothwell, who were also recognized for their performances in the same series.
This year’s Emmy Awards have drawn significant attention, especially with Severance on Apple TV+ and The Pitt on HBO Max vying for the title of Best Drama. Meanwhile, in the limited series category, Netflix‘s gripping Adolescence has emerged as the frontrunner, though HBO Max’s The Penguin is also expected to make a strong showing.
The atmosphere at the awards was electric, reflecting the high stakes and fierce competition within the industry. LaNasa’s win not only marks a personal achievement but also underscores the growing recognition of talent in diverse roles across various platforms.
As the night unfolded, it became clear that the Emmy Awards continue to celebrate the art of storytelling, with actors like LaNasa leading the way in showcasing the depth and complexity of modern television.
