January 2026: Exciting New Movies Coming to Theatres Worldwide
January 2026 is set to be an exciting month for cinema enthusiasts, with a variety of films poised to debut in theatres around the world. Notable releases include the highly anticipated Ikkis, featuring Agastya Nanda, and the action sequel Border 2, starring Sunny Deol.

Major Releases in January
The first film to hit theatres is Ikkis, a biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who fought in the 1971 India-Pakistan War. This film, featuring Agastya Nanda alongside veteran actor Dharmendra, will open on January 1, 2026. The release was postponed from its initial date of December 25, 2025, to accommodate the successful run of another film.

Another significant release is Jana Nayagan, set to debut on January 9, 2026. This action thriller marks the final film of the popular actor Thalapathy Vijay before he enters the political arena. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film also stars Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, narrating the journey of an ordinary man who rises against injustice.
On the same day, The Raja Saab, a romantic horror comedy directed by Maruthi, will also premiere. Featuring Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, and Malavika Mohanan, the film revolves around a young man’s attempts to sell his ancestral property to resolve financial woes.

As January continues, audiences can look forward to a series of intriguing films. Rahu Ketu, directed by Vipul Vig, will be released on January 16, 2026. Starring Pulkit Samrat and Shalini Pandey, the film follows two hapless men on a mission stemming from a magical notebook.
On the same date, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos will mark the directorial debut of Vir Das. In this comedic adventure, Das portrays a man aspiring to be a secret agent, with cameo appearances from notable actors Imran Khan and Aamir Khan.
Another release on January 16 is Mayasabha – The Hall of Illusion. Starring Jaaved Jaaferi, this film explores the experiences of visitors at an attraction that challenges their perceptions and memories.
The month concludes with the much-anticipated Border 2, set to release on January 23, 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh, this sequel will delve into the narratives of the Indo-Pak war, showcasing the efforts of armed forces across various terrains. Sunny Deol leads a star-studded cast, including Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, as they portray military heroes defending their nation.
