Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away in Mumbai at the age of 89, just days shy of his 90th birthday. His portrayal of Veeru in the iconic 1975 film Sholay remains one of the most beloved performances in Indian cinema. Even in recent years, he captivated audiences with his roles in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024).

Born on December 8, 1935, in Nasrali village, Punjab, Dharmendra began his film career in 1960 with the movie Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. His striking looks, natural charisma, and ability to adapt to various genres propelled him to stardom. His contributions to Indian cinema were recognized when he was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2012.

Dharmendra is survived by his two wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, along with his six children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol.
