Modi Unveils ₹1.22 Lakh Cr Development Projects in Banswara

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several projects worth ₹1.22 lakh crore during a ceremony in Banswara, Rajasthan, on Thursday. The initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance electricity access and promote development across the nation.

During his address, Modi criticized previous governments for their failure to prioritize electricity production. He stated, “Before 2014, there were 2.5 crore households in India that did not have electricity connections.” Modi emphasized that the lack of infrastructure left 18,000 villages without electricity poles even after 70 years of independence.

The Prime Minister underscored the significance of electricity for rapid development in the 21st century, claiming that the situation has improved since his government took office. “In 2014, our government resolved to change this situation as electricity reached every village in the country,” he said. Modi highlighted the necessity for increasing power production, particularly in the context of clean energy initiatives. “The most successful countries will be those that lead in clean energy,” he added.

In addition to addressing power issues, Modi took aim at the Congress Party, asserting that their governance had led to a decline in public services. “Power cuts were frequent during the Congress rule,” he remarked, recalling how villagers would celebrate any electricity that arrived. He claimed that the establishment of new industries was stifled due to the energy shortages prevalent during that period.

The Prime Minister also referenced the Congress government’s track record in Rajasthan, stating that “the state became a hub of paper leaks” and that “atrocities against women were at their peak.” Modi posited that under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), law and order has been strengthened and development has accelerated. He expressed confidence that the BJP government is steering Rajasthan towards rapid development.

Modi’s speech included a tribute to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, whose birth anniversary is on September 25. The Prime Minister emphasized the principle of Antyodaya, or uplifting the most marginalized individuals in society, as a guiding mission for his administration. He criticized the opposition for neglecting the needs of tribal communities, asserting that his government has prioritized their welfare by creating a dedicated ministry for tribal affairs.

Reflecting on the achievements of his government, Modi announced the launch of a significant PM MITRA Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, aimed at benefiting tribal farmers. He noted that the elevation of Droupadi Murmu, a member of a poor tribal family, to the Presidency of India is a testament to the BJP’s commitment to advancing the interests of marginalized communities.

The Prime Minister concluded his address by reiterating the impact of government initiatives, such as the PM Janman Yojana, which focuses on uplifting the most deprived segments of tribal society. This program was inspired by the President’s advocacy for the rights of the most marginalized.

As these projects unfold, the BJP aims to reshape the socio-economic landscape of Rajasthan and enhance the living standards of its residents, particularly those in tribal areas.
