Godfrey Phillips and GHV Infra Projects Announce Bonus Shares
Two prominent Indian companies, Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. and GHV Infra Projects Ltd., are preparing to issue bonus shares to their stakeholders, with the record date set for September 16, 2023. This move allows eligible shareholders to receive additional shares, enhancing their investment in these firms.
Godfrey Phillips Announces 2:1 Bonus Share Issue
The board of Godfrey Phillips India has recommended a bonus share issue in a ratio of 2:1. This means that shareholders will receive two fully paid-up bonus shares for every one share they currently hold. The record date for this distribution is established as September 16, allowing eligible shareholders to benefit from this allocation.
It is important for investors to remember that under India’s T+1 settlement cycle, they must purchase shares at least one trading day before the record date to qualify for the bonus shares. Shares bought on the record date itself will not be reflected in the demat accounts in time for the bonus allotment.
GHV Infra Projects to Issue Bonus Shares in 3:2 Ratio
Similarly, GHV Infra Projects Ltd. is set to issue bonus shares, with the board recommending a total of up to 4,32,45,000 new shares in the ratio of 3:2. This means that shareholders will receive three new equity shares for every two existing shares held, with each share having a face value of Rs 5.
The record date for this bonus issue is also set for September 16, aligning with Godfrey Phillips. Investors interested in benefiting from this bonus share allocation must ensure their shares are purchased ahead of this critical date.
Both announcements highlight a proactive approach by these companies to reward their shareholders and strengthen investor confidence. As the record date approaches, stakeholders are encouraged to review their holdings and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria to receive these bonus shares.
In addition to Godfrey Phillips and GHV Infra Projects, other companies such as National Fertilizer and India Glycols are also expected to announce corporate actions this week, signifying a period of active engagement in the market.
