Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to Launch Key Infrastructure Projects

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to lay the foundation stone for the new office of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) at Meerkhanpet on September 28, 2023. Alongside this, he will also initiate a significant infrastructure project: a 41-kilometre greenfield radial road. This road will establish a crucial connection between the Tata Interchange on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amangal.

The construction of the FCDA office comes with an investment of Rs 19 crore. Meanwhile, the greenfield radial road project is being executed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at a substantial cost of Rs 4,600 crore. The development of this road will take place in two phases. The first phase will extend 19 kilometres from the Raviryal TATA Interchange to Meerkhanpet, while the second phase will cover 22 kilometres from Meerkhanpet to the RRR at Amangal.

The road will traverse through 19 villages and is projected to be completed within 30 months. Tenders for the project have already been invited, signalling the commencement of this vital infrastructure development.

Enhancing Connectivity and Future Development

According to government sources, the radial road project aims to provide a direct link between the ORR and RRR, significantly reducing travel time to the southern districts. This initiative is expected to alleviate congestion on existing routes and enhance connectivity to various key areas, including industries, IT hubs, and regional markets.

The new road will also facilitate future public transport options, including potential metro and rail corridors. This will not only support the operational needs of the Future City but will also strengthen supply chains by improving access to facilities such as the Skill University and E-City.

The Future City itself, envisioned as a global hub for digital technologies, innovation, and sustainability, will cover approximately 765 square kilometres across 56 revenue villages in seven mandals of the Ranga Reddy district. It is designed to include IT parks, research centres, modern residential areas, and educational institutions.

The state government has allocated 7.29 acres for the FCDA office, which will feature a built-up area of 16,393 square feet. Officials have indicated that the proposed facility will incorporate modern workspaces equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and an experience centre. This centre will showcase planning concepts and innovative infrastructure models for Bharat Future City.

This dual initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and fostering sustainable growth in Hyderabad, positioning the city as a leader in technological and environmental advancements.
