Akshay Kumar Reveals Unique Health Secrets: Early Dinners and Fasting

Indian actor Akshay Kumar recently shared insights into his disciplined lifestyle at the launch of the book Your Body Already Knows. Known for his commitment to fitness, Kumar detailed his daily routine that includes early dinners and periodic fasting, emphasizing their importance for maintaining health.
Early Dinners for Better Digestion
During the event, Kumar highlighted the significance of having dinner by 6:30 PM. He explained, “Early dinner is important. It is very important for your body because when we go to sleep at night, our eyes are resting, our legs are resting, our hands are resting—every part of our body is resting. But what is not resting is your stomach because we have eaten food late.”
By eating early, Kumar believes that he allows his digestive system to function properly before his bedtime, which typically falls around 9:30 PM to 10 PM. He pointed out that a late meal can lead to a fatigued digestive system, which must work while the rest of the body is in slumber. He stressed the connection between digestive health and overall well-being, stating, “Most diseases originate from the stomach, and giving it time to rest is essential.”
Weekly Fasting and Unique Workouts
Alongside his early dinner routine, Kumar engages in a weekly fast every Monday. He mentioned, “I take my last meal on Sunday night and don’t eat again until Tuesday morning.” This practice, which he describes as a method to reset his digestive system, has gained traction in recent years due to its purported health benefits.
In terms of fitness, Kumar adopts a playful, non-traditional approach. He prefers activities like rock climbing and sports over conventional weight training. “I don’t pick up weights. I love to play lots of sports,” he remarked. His home gym reflects this philosophy, designed for bodyweight exercises rather than traditional weights. “It’s basically made for monkeys. I only hang. There are no weights,” he added, illustrating his preference for functional fitness.
Kumar’s routine showcases a blend of simplicity, consistency, and discipline. By prioritizing early meals, incorporating fasting, and engaging in active play, he advocates for listening to the body’s natural needs. As he puts it, “Your body already knows what it needs—you just have to listen to it.”
With these insights, Akshay Kumar not only emphasizes the importance of a balanced lifestyle but also inspires his fans to adopt healthier habits.
