Three Minors Arrested Following Stabbing of Delhi Boy

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed outside his school in Paharganj, central Delhi, on September 4, 2023. The injured student arrived at the Paharganj police station with a knife lodged in his chest, prompting immediate medical attention. He was transported to Kalawati Saran Hospital and later referred to RML Hospital, where doctors successfully removed the knife.
According to police reports, the attack stemmed from a prior incident where one of the accused minors had been assaulted by a group of boys. This minor suspected the victim of instigating the earlier attack. Seeking revenge, he and two accomplices confronted the boy near his school gate.
Nidhin Valsan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), stated, “One of the minors stabbed him with a knife while his associates restrained him. One of them even threatened the boy with a broken beer bottle before the stabbing.”
In the aftermath, authorities registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. The police quickly launched an investigation, utilizing local intelligence to locate the suspects. Within hours, all three minors, aged between 15 and 16, were apprehended from the Aram Bagh area.
The police also recovered the knife used in the attack and the broken beer bottle from the scene. This incident has raised concerns over youth violence in the area, prompting discussions among community leaders regarding preventive measures.
The swift response of law enforcement highlights the ongoing commitment to addressing public safety concerns. As investigations continue, local residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
